“President Uhuru’s message to Kenyans at the eve of the new
year was full of lies and empty rhetoric”. These are the remarks which have
been made by Mwingi Central MP during a press statement he issued to the media
today at his palatial home at Kalisasi in Mwingi central Sub-county in Kitui
County.

Dr. Gideon Mulyungi said that the number of employment
opportunities created, water supplied to Kenyans, kilometres of roads tarmacked
and the number of households lit with electric power were the greatest lies
that the president made to Kenyans at the eve of the New Year as nothing of
these is evident at his constituency during the first five year term jubilee
has been in power.
On 31st at around 7:00 to 8:00PM, the president
issued a press statement at his residence at statehouse in Nairobi and sited
various achievements that his government has been able to accomplish in the
last five years.
Mr. Mulyungi said that in the last five years that jubilee
has been in power, his constituency has witness not even a single kilometre of
tarmac or even any mega projects; he even went to the extent of inviting the
president to tour his constituency and show residents the massive development
he claimed to have actualized across the nation.
“I want President Uhuru Kenyatta to tour my constituency and
show the electorate those mega projects he was talking about; the tarmacked
roads, the water he has supplied or the grass thatched houses he has connected
to the national power greed,” Said Mr. Mulyungi
The legislator accused the president of pure dictatorship
which has seen many innocent Kenyans lose their lives in demonstrations under
his watch.
“The only thing Mr. Uhuru can bag of after five years of his
leadership is dictatorship evident in the way police have been killing innocent
Kenyans in peaceful demonstrations under his watch,” Added the vocal
legislator.
The MP said that the only achievement that the President
Uhuru has been able to accomplish is seeing Kenyans lose billions of money in
corruption and undergoing immense suffering due to endless labour strikes which
have been affecting the country.
Mr. Mulyungi also demanded that the jubilee government
implement the free secondary education it had promised Kenyans if it retains
power and relief poor Kenyans the burden of paying school fees even at a time
when bringing food to the table is a great challenge.
“I wonder why parents are still troubling me with requests
for assistance in paying school fees for their children yet during their
campaigns, the Jubilee administration had promised Kenyans free Secondary
education. Mr. Uhuru should concentrate in implementing that first instead of
giving Kenyans speeches filled with empty rhetoric,” emphasized the MP.
He called upon the president to show leadership by bringing
opposition leaders on board to chart a way forward for the country, as the
on-going political wrangles will only scare away investors and make life
unbearable for Kenyans.
“If the opposition leader Raila Odinga and Wiper party
leader Kalonzo Musyoka are sworn in, most investors would shy away from the
country and Kenyans will go through very hard times yet again. That why there
is great need for dialogue,” He pointed out.
End.
