DETECTIVES from Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) arrested a man suspected to be behind the gruesome murder of his girlfriend Everlyn Wanjiru, 24.
The man was handcuffed in Ndenderu area, Kiambu County on January 5.
According to DCI, 26-year-old Brian Waweru, went into hiding after allegedly killing his girlfriend in cold-blooded murder. Her decomposing body was found in his house on January 5 in the evening.
The couple jointly owned a barbershop and a beauty parlour in Thindigua. “The two who jointly owned a Barbershop and beauty parlour in Thindigua, are said to have been lovebirds for a long time before their relationship went south”, reads a police report posted on DCI official Facebook page seen by Mwingi Times.
The suspect is a serial offender who has a pending defilement case.After Waweru was arrested by detectives in Ndenderu area, he confessed to killing his girlfriend. He also led the police to a spot where he had hidden the murder weapon.
After he was arrested, he was locked up as detectives processed for his arraignment in court today to answer murder charges.
