Three of five wards in Mwingi North Sub County will receive very heavy rainfall in some area, the Weatherman has said.
In his weekly weather forecast, Kitui County Director of Meteorology Daniel Mbithi said that Tseikuru, Tharaka and Kyuso wards will receive more than 50mm of rainfall which is classified as the highest amount of downpour.
Other wards expected to receive heavy rains are Ngomeni, Nguni and Mumoni.
Most wards in Kitui South are expected to receive the least amounts of rain which is below 20mm.
They are Ikutha, Mutha and Kanziko Wards among others in the expansive region.
Kenya Meteorological Department advises farmers to conserve enough rain water and continue weeding their crops for maximum yields as Kitui County is arid and prone to drought.
