Ngilu drops out of Kitui gubernatorial race

Kitui governor Mrs Charity Ngilu has bowed out of the hotly contested gubernatorial race pitting her against former senator David Musila and pioneer governor Dr Julius Malombe.

Speaking at Mutha township, Azimio presidential flagbearer Raila Odinga said that Ngilu will serve in his government at the national level.

“You will decide between former Governor Julius Malombe and former Senator David Musila who will be your governor. I will take mama to Nairobi”, said the ODM leader.

Deputy President William Ruto’s party UDA is fronting former Nairobi deputy county boss Jonathan Mueke to vie for the Kitui county top seat.

Before quitting the Kitui governorship race, Ngilu had hinted at supporting Senator David Musila.
