The 47 County Assemblies have assembled in Nakuru County for the annual CASA (County Assembly Sports Association) games.
These annual events and cultural festivals bring together the 47 counties comprising the staff, elected and nominated members of the County Assembly to participate in different disciplines during the week-long events.
Kevin Kinengo Katisya (Kitui County Assembly) and Ann Kiusya (Machakos County Assembly) Speakers were among the county assembly leaders who graced the opening ceremony of the fourth edition of CASA games at the Nakuru Showgrounds. The opening ceremony was also graced by Sports Cabinet Secretar Ababu Namwamba.
Ababu challenged the County Speakers to address the issue of the autonomy of the County assembly during their upcoming meeting with the President which he said will help in making assemblies independent and strong in their oversight role.
