FORMER MCAs dominate the list of shortlisted candidates for Kitui County Assembly Service Board.
Among those in the shortlist is ex-Mumoni ward representative Johnson Kanandu, Kasee Musya who represented Kisasi ward in the last parliament. In total, 23 candidates were shortlisted with females being six and the rest males.
Others in the short list are Ms Jane Mutua (Kauwi), Stephen Musili (Kyuso), James Munuve (Kanziko) and Mr Andrew Lusa who is a former MCA for Kanyangi ward.
Other familiar faces in the list are outgoing board members Simon Mundu. He served as CECM for Finance in Governor Malombe’s first administration from 2013 to 2017. Dr Jane Mutua is seeking to serve in the same capacity for a third term.
Ms Jane Kibati who vied for elective seasts in 2013 and 2017 has also been shortlisted for interview of the powerful board in the Assembly. She lost in the bid to represent Kitui County in the National Assembly as Women Representative.
The two successful candidates will join the Speaker Kevin Kinengo Katisya and two MCAs to fully constitute the board. Chulluni MCA Ngovi Vuthi (Wiper) and Hussein Mwandia (Narc) are the MCAs in the board of the third Assembly.
