DP Ruto tours Kalonzo’s home turf campaigning for his presidential bid

Deputy President William Ruto will today visit Kitui County.  In a communication sent by his senior press secretary Munyori Buku, the country’s second in command will visit various regions in the geographically spread Kitui County starting with the headquarters to Kitui West and finally Mwingi town.

“He will meet pastors at Unyaa Primary School in Kitui Central. Later, he will lead a fund drive for churches at Matinyani”, reads a message sent by Mr Buku.

In Kitui West, Mr Ruto will lead a fund drive for churches at Matinyani where is scheduled to meet AIC Church members and later tour Kauwi to meet church leaders.

The Deputy President will have public rallies in Matinyani and Kabati towns to drive support for his presidential bid.

His final public address will culminate in a mammoth rally at the heart of Kalonzo’s bastion in Mwingi town where he will meet with Bodaboda riders and women groups to empower them with business ventures they are working on.

Dr Ruto’s visit comes hot on the heals of a bruising defeat Wiper suffered in Nguu/Masumba ward, Makueni County where its candidate came last in the competition that Ruto’s man Daniel Musau beat Kalonzo’s Eshio Mwaiwa.

But they both lost the seat to Timothy Maneno, an independent aspirant following the death of MCA Harris Ngui who died in a tragic road accident this year.

Moses Mbanda who is UDA patron for Kitui County called upon residents and aspirants to receive Ruto well and use the opportunity to campaign for themselves in the various seat they are vying for.

“We know that our leader Dr Ruto is very much interested in God’s work and Christianity. He has planned that his leadership will be led by God. He will be coming to Kitui to be prayed for by all our pastors so that we have peace in our country”, he said.
