Kitui supports Katangi accident victims' families

In a message to the media earlier today, Kitui Governor Dr Julius Malombe said his administration will offer support to the families of the deceased by buying coffins, hiring tents, buying water for the burial attendants and waiving mortuary fees. The governor said he will send members of his cabinet to represent him during the burials.

Among the dead were a child and nine adults. Governor Malombe called for observing traffic rules in order to curb road carnage. He emphasized that Public Service Vehicles should be well maintained and road signs be marked well.

"One life lost is one too many. It has actually left a void in our community that cannot be filled", said the Kitui county chief.
