Chuka University women's volleyball team gears up for national games

In the anticipation of the upcoming Kenya University National Games scheduled to take place in the Western region next month, the Chuka University women's volleyball team affectionately known as Mikasa, have been vigorously training to evaluate and enhance their performance.

Their two coaches, Mrs Vero Apiyo and Mr Patrick expressed unwavering confidence in the team's progress, citing notable improvement in their performance particularly  in their recent match; Meru opens tournament. The trainers have been keenly observing the service training, ball attacks and reception of the team. "Make sure your service is targeted to specific person at her standing position and your blocks must be a perfect block on your playing side," Mrs Vero remarked.

Team captain Mercy Chebet shared insight into team's rigorous training regime, which includes morning exercise on Saturday from 6:30am to enhance flexibility and evening ball work session from 5:00pm to 7:00pm to refine their playing skills. 
Chuka Mikasa attributes their success to dedicated coaching staff; Mr Ouma Stephen, Sean Opwaro, Esther Robi, Mwangi and Shon.

Furthermore, the team extended an invitation to aspiring volleyballers urging them to join the squad in the upcoming semester with some players set to depart after the current semester. They hope to maintain their team's reputation and achievements.
