Embu police officer found dead in suspected suicide

The police officer Charles Mbogo who worked in one of the police stations in Kianjokoma in Embu North is alleged to have died by suicide more than 30 kilometres from his station work.

Confirming the incident, Kagaari South East location senior chief Mr Henry Ndwiga said the incident happened at around 11am.

Detectives are piecing together circumstances under which he left the work station to commit suicide and whether he was on duty yesterday before taking his life.

"We received the report at around 11am. I received a call from one of the locals then I rushed there only to find is a person I know, Charles Mbogo a police officer working with Kenya Police," said the Chief.

Chief Ndwiga called upon those with mental health challenges to seek advice from professionals especially psychiatrists.
