NIGHT of tears as Meru man stabs woman and flees

A man lured two ladies from Nairobi City to travel  to Miraa-famous Maua region in Meru County and meet him for a date.

Confirming the promise of a night with happy ending that turned to tears, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said on Thursday night that a man identified as Patoo was the suspect in the night attack.

Patoo convinced two city girls Sylvia and her best friend Jackie to board a Meru-bourd shuttle along Accra road. After approximately four hours, they arrived in a little known town called Kwa Amos. That was after travelling from Nairobi to Meru then boarding Maua destined shuttles.

The two beauties started worrying about their safety since it was getting dark and they did not know exactly where they were going.

"The girls who were all dressed up for a party became skeptical as it grew darker and scary but love won and they continued with their journey", writes the DCI in their Facebook page.

The government investigating body revealed that it was upon arrival when the man identified as Patoo immediately reached for a knife and stabbed Sylvia on her shoulder before fleeing into darkness.

The DCI adds that it took the intervention of a Good Samaritan to rescue Sylvia and rush her to Muthara market hospital for first aid.

Sylvia was later transferred to Meru Teaching and Referral Hospital for specialized treatment.
