We take the security of every citizen seriously -Ruto

President William Ruto has lauded the police for contributing as little as KSh50 to build a KSh100 million hospital at Kanyonyoo Border Patrol Unit training college.

The Head of State took the opportunity to criticize his political opponents saying that Kanyonyoo hospital unit was a testimony of the much KSh50 can do.
"I heard some people saying KSh500, 1000 or 2000 being given in Hustler Fund is little money. I want to request them when they get an opportunity to come here in Kanyonyoo to see a hospital of KSh100Million built by KSh50", he said.

The 130-bed Level Four Hospital will be used treating police officers who get injured will defending our country.

According to Dr Ruto, the hospital will play a key role in rehabilitating those officers affected by Post Traumatic Stress Disorder as well as combat trauma while at work.

The Head of State ordered the Inspector General of Police to work with the Ministry of Health to ensure the facility has adequate human resources as he observed that it had only one medical doctor and a few health officers on duty.

Dr Ruto commended Kitui Governor Dr Julius Malombe for embracing and supporting the development of the police training campus as well as his government working with security agencies for seamless coordination and collaboration.

In order to boost security along Kenyan borders and strategic installations, the President said that the Ministry of Transport will complete the construction to Kanyonyoo airstrip that will serve police as well as neighboring communities.
"The Government of Kenya will also complete building of the airstrip here" said President Dr William Ruto.

Another facility in the campus that has benefited from Ruto's tour is the Kanyonyoo stadium. Ruto said that PS Sports Jonathan Mueke will guide the completion work of the stadium. The stadium will be used by the officers for recreational purposes as well as the neighboring communities.

The President said that his government is taking the security of the nation and every citizen seriously and that's why it is commiting to raise the institutional operational capacity of the National Police Service in order to benefit the officers as well as all Kenyans.
