In a meeting held yesterday at State House Nairobi, President William Ruto called upon the regional assembly MPs to focus on trade, investment and peace in the region.

Among the EALA MPs in attendance was Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s son Kennedy Musyoka who will return to the Arusha-based Assembly for a second term.

The Head of State said East Africa holds immense economic potential that partner nations are yet to maximize.

“The economic expansion of the Community is in the best interest of all nations and citizens of East Africa”, he said.

The President advised EALA MPs to put aside their party differences and put Kenya’s interest first.

“When we talk about trade and investment, there are no political parties. Do your best for our country and economy”, President Ruto said in a dispatch from Statehouse seen by MWINGI TIMES.

According to the photos shared by State House, one EALA MP was conspicuously absent.  ODM leader Raila Odinga’s daughter Winnie Odinga was missing from the group photo shared by the State House.
