Speaking in Kitui town during the flagging off of the ceremony, Equity Bank Kitui branch manager Francis Kyalo Mbindyo advised the students to work hard and benefit their communities. He also said that parents and guardians of other students unlucky to be sponsored should not give up but join community schools to realise their dreams.

Mr Mbindyo confirmed they sponsored 148 students from a pool of over 700 applicants, underscoring the competitiveness of the process.

Speaking to MWINGI TIMES, the beneficiary students were happy for the sponsorship saying that they will be able to achieve their dreams.
