Mumoni school demonstrates as parent assaults teacher

 The Kathiani Primary School fraternity has staged a demonstration protesting the assault of a teacher by a parent from the same community.

The strike comprised of teachers, parents and pupils who marched to the office of District Commissioner in Katse town with a view to ventilating their grievances to the local Education ministry head.

Speaking to the press, the team said that the parent had ganged up with a team to cripple operations in the school. Yesterday, they met the DO and his team in Katse town, a source told Mwingi Times.

It was alleged that Katse OCS who caused the act was arrested.

When Kathiani Primary School went to record a statement at Katse police station, they met the suspect on the road having being freed after paying a cash bail.

The DO declined to release the teacher in order to secure his safety since he was getting life threats.
