Former nominated MP Bishop Robert Mutemi who is also the
leader of the Global Vision Church (GVC), has called for the opposition leader
Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta to loosen their hard lining position which
is likely to drive Kenya into war and instead embrace dialogue, as this is the
best way to deal with the problems affecting Kenyans.
On an interview at Mwingi yesterday, Mutemi said that the
church is like the barometer of the society and as it currently stands, the
nation is heading in the wrong directions leaders fight to satisfy their egos
instead of addressing issues affecting Kenyans directly.

BISHOP ROBERT MUTEMI ADDRESSING THE PRESS AT MWINGI |
The former legislator said that kind of dialogue that the
church has been advocating for is not the one to discuss on how either Raila or
Uhuru will be the president of the republic of Kenya, but it’s on how issue
affecting the general public can be solved and how unity can be achieved across
the political divide.
On the issue of swearing in Raila Odinga as the president,
the Clergy called for strict adherence to the provisions of the constitution,
failure to which Kenya will fall into anarchy and jungle law will become the
other option. This is even after plans to swear in Raila on 12th
December were postponed to a later date due to unknown circumstances.
Bishop Mutemi called for all leaders from across the
political divide to be caution in the actions they do, keeping in mind that we
have a country to protect, even as they seek solving issues affecting Kenyans.
Mutemi also called for President Uhuru Kenyatta to listen to
the complaints being made by a section of Kenyans and device ways of dealing
with them, instead of draining all his energy in trying to fight Raila’s
resistance.
He as well called for the opposition leader Raila Odinga to
stop his fight of resisting Uhuru as the president of Kenya and instead seek
dialogue on development issues affecting Kenyans and ways of moving the country
forward.
End.
