Central, Eastern and Western regions of Kitui County are forecast to have heavy downpour this first week of the year 2023.
The Kenya Meteorological Department expects northern and southern parts of the expansive county to get light rains from January 3 to 9.
Kitui County Director of Meteorology Mr Daniel Mbithi advised residents to continue weeding their crops and harvest rain water.
The Weatherman also urged farmers to consult their local agricultural extension officers for best farming practices in the light of this forecast.
