Governor Malombe forms committee to review pending bills

 IN a measure of his resolve in fighting corruption in the county government of Kitui, governor Julius Malombe has formed a committee to verify pending bills and audit the procurement processes.


Kitui County Pending Bills Review Committee, 2022 has been gazetted. “The purpose of the Committee is to advise and guide the County Government on the settlement of genuine pending bills as per the terms of reference (ToRs) for the assignment provided separately.” it reads in part of Gazette Notice No. 11948.

MWINGI TIMES has read a section of the notice showing Nicholas Kathuka Muthui to be the Chairperson of the committee. He will be assisted by Bilha Wanjiru Mwangi who will serve as the vice chairperson.

The committee has six more members, one assisting counsel and three joint secretaries.

Governor Dr Malombe notes that people with any claim or pending bill against Kitui County Government should write and submit the claim within 10 days of publication of the Kitui County Government Committee on Review of Pending Bills notice

To save taxpayers money from haemorrhage, the county indicates that anyone submitting documents suspected to be fake will be reported to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
