CS Penina Malonza issues relief food, household items to Mwingi flood victims

Cabinet Secretary in the East Africa Community and ASAL region docket Penina Malonza has today distributed food stuffs and household items to over 100 people who were left homeless, following heavy rains in Karung'a location in Mwingi Central constituency, Kitui county.

The items distributed included: cooking utensils, blankets, mattresses and iron sheets. 

Speaking during the distribution of the relief aid, CS Malonza said that the government is observing a multi-agency approach to the ongoing floods across the country, urging Kenyans to use the local administration in reporting emergency cases in their regions. 

The CS said that the national government was committed in ensuring that the effects of the ongoing heavy rains are mitigated and no Kenyan loses life unnecessarily. 

Mwingi Central MP Dr. Gideon Mulyungi who had accompanied the CS in his constituency lauded the national government for the aid, while requesting for more aid to the affected people across the country.
