Kitui County is the second devolved unit to adopt advanced digital avenues in serving its residents. Makueni was the first.

The Dr Julius Malombe-led county partnered with Safaricom to come up with myCounty App. The app will serve as a paperless government in serving Kenyans.
"I want the Deputy Governor, ministers and all of us to know that by either next year or the year after, but I prefer next year, we can have cabinet meetings which are paperless. And paperless offices too, " said the governor.
The launch was graced by Safaricom Chief Corporate Security Officer Mr Nicholas Mulila. Mulila lauded Kitui County for embracing technology in delivering services to its residents.
The event took place at Kitui Governor's administration block. Malombe directed the ICT department to take a lead role in planning the realization of journey to paperless meetings and offices.
Some of the services that will be available at myCounty App are payment of county services, revenue management system, citizen reporting and engagement. Others will be catering for agriculture, health, utility bills and micro and medium enterprise programs.
