In its weekly weather forecast sent to newsrooms, Kenya Meteorological Department has forecast light rains over several places in the week starting October 3. The afternoons will be marked by dry and partly cloudy conditions, said Mr Daniel Mbithi, the county weather director.
Even as they wait for El Niño rains, Kitui residents have been warned by Weatherman that strong south easterly winds of over 25 knots[12.5m/s] are likely to occur.
The maximum temperature during the forecast period will range from 25°C to 37°C while the minimum temperature is predicted to be oscillating from 16°C to 24°C.
Ward agricultural extension officers have been tasked to guide farmers for the best farm practices.
