Kitui Governor Dr Julius Malombe joined thousands of Roman Catholic faithfuls and other leaders at Unoa Grounds in Wote town during the ordination ceremony of Bishop Paul Kariuki Njiru. Bishop Kariuki is the pioneer Bishop of the newly erected Diocese of Wote.
Kitui Governor Dr Julius Malombe arrives at Unoa Grounds for the ordination of new Bishop of Wote Diocese Paul Kariuki Njiru. He served as Bishop of Embu Diocese before he was appointed by Pope Francis.
Prior to his current role, the Catholic bishop was serving as the Local Ordinary of Kenya's Embu Diocese until his new appointment by Pope Francis.
The ordination ceremony was presided over by Pope's Representative to Kenya and South Sudan Apostolic Nuncio Dr Hubertus Matheus Maria Van Megen.
The ceremony was also graced by Wiper party leader Dr Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, Machakos Governor Ms Wavinya Ndeti, Makueni Governor Mutula Kilonzo Junior, Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu, Permanent Secretaries Teresia Mbaika and Veronica Nduva, former Defense CS Eugene Wamalwa, among other leaders.
