The government has made measures to address cattle rustling and banditry in the country.
Interior Cabinet Secretary Prof Kithure Kindiki (second left) established a GSU Camp in Mandongoi area, Mwingi North Sub County as a measure to address livestock rustling and banditry.|X
Speaking in Mandongoi area in Kitui County, Interior CS Kithure Kindiki said the vices impoverished residents of Eastern and North Rift counties.
"The government will enhance the deployment of formed units and arm security officers with modern equipment to boost their capacity to thwart and deal with complex crimes. Criminals using firearms to attack security officers and civilians will be handled ruthlessly", the Cabinet Secretary Kindiki wrote on his X [formerly Twitter] account.
CS Kindiki established a General Service Unit [GSU] Camp in Mandongoi as a measure of boosting security in the region. The meeting was attended by top security administrators in Eastern region as well as the county. Members of County Assembly attended too.
