Top scholars led by Prof Mumo Kisao graced the graduation and thanksgiving ceremony.
Prof Kisao described Kimwele as a role model to his community as far as the scaling of the academic ladder was concerned. A number of CEC Kimwele's colleagues attended. They were County Treasury CEC Peter Kilonzo, his Environment and Natural Resources counterpart John Mwendandu. Others in attendance were Lands and Transport CEC Reuben Itiko, Ms Joyce Titus, the Education County Executive Committee Member [CECM] and Phoebe Mutemi, CEC for Culture.
Prof Mumo Kisao decried the negative effects of sand harvesting in Mwingi Central. He said that the sand harvesting had led to high number of school drop outs among the children and the business was breeding immoral activities among the adults. He challenged Agriculture and CECM to take a personal responsibility in eradicating the menace which happen in his home region.
