Ukambani Members of Parliament have defended Wiper leader Dr Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka from verbal attacks made by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

While appearing in Citizen TV interview, Kitui Central MP Dr Makali Mulu said that the country's second in command should respect Kalonzo. "We demand respect. That kind of lecture coming from the DP of this country, we did not take it kindly", said the MP.
DP Rigathi Gachagua was speaking at Ulaani village in Machakos County during the burial of the late Anne Kalekye, the mother of Mwala MP Vincent Musyoka. He said that talks cochaired by Wiper leader Dr Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka and National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung'wah will not succeed.
"Nothing will come out of the talks they are sending Kalonzo", said Mr Gachagua.
Speaking with a local radio station , Mwingi Central MP Dr Gedion Mulyungi reminded Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua that the Wiper leader was Ukambani regional kingpin and "he must be respected". His counterpart from Yatta constituency in Machakos County Robert Basil told Mr Gachagua that he is the Deputy President of Kenya not Kenya Kwanza government alone. He called upon the government of the day to equally work for all Kenyans regardless of their political persuasions.
