Friends show their true colors in times of need; and not in times of happiness. Pay close attention to people under pressure or in crisis situations if you want to know their true colours.
People show their true colours, unintentionally. Pay attention. People are like chameleons, they adapt to your favorite colour so you’ll like them. But eventually, true colours always show.
In the beginning, some people try to appear that everything about them is “in black and white,” until later their true colours come out. The best thing about the worst time of your life is that you get to see the true colours of everyone. Some people aren’t loyal to you. They are loyal to the need of you, once their need changes so does their loyalty. When people say they are happy for you it may mean they are sad for themselves.
A friend is one who overlooks your broken fence and admires the flowers in your garden. Watch them describe you to somebody else and see how long it takes for them to bring up your physical description that'll tell you all.
A true friend never gets in your way unless you happen to be going down the wrong way. A true friend is someone who sees the first tear, catches the second, and stops the third. Time after time, my "friends" had show. What is the seal of liberation? No longer being ashamed in front of oneself. No other version, no matter how perfect it is, would ever feel better than being your true self. Never regret being a good person to the wrong people. Your behavior says everything about you and theirs says enough about them.
