If found guilty, Kitui East MP Nimrod Mbai will pay a fine of KSh300,000 or a jail term of three years or both upon conviction over allegedly assaulting a Kenya Power staffer on July 3.
The second term MP was caught on video assaulting Kenya Power engineer Julius Ogangi who was on official duty at Mbai's Kitengela home.
On the day of assault, the MP was armed with a pistol.
Now, the UDA MP has been summoned by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission to be interrogated and record a statement on July 17. This is according to EACC boss Twalib Mbarak.
"To this end, you are requested to appear in the offices of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission at the Integrity Centre, Nairobi on Thursday, 17 July 2023 at 0900 hours for an interview and recording of statement ", read a statement from the EACC in part.
