Kitui County Director of Meteorology Daniel Mbithi said that there was a chance of early morning light rains over several places towards the end of the forecast period (March 14-20, 2023).

However, Kitui County is expected to continue receiving generally dry and dusty conditions during the forecast period.

The arid and semi-arid county will receive a maximum temperature ranging from 26 to 35 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature will be between 16 and 24 degrees Celsius.

"Strong easterly winds with speeds exceeding 25 knots[46.4km/h] are likely to occur over a few places in Kitui County ", warns KMD.

The Weatherman advised farmers to get in touch with their respective Ward Agricultural Extension Officers from the County Ministry of Agriculture for the best farming practices such as planting Drought Tolerant Crops that can withstand little amount of rains over the long rains season.
