MWINGI man kills two children, injures their mother

Two children died after they were attacked by a new land owner in Kiomo location, Mwingi Central Sub County.

The incident took place at Kwamunyanzu village where a man named Zakayo Ruth attacked a woman and her two children aged 10 and 4 years old.

Confirming the incident, Mwingi OCPD Peter Mutuma said the children were cut using a panga.

Kiomo location Chief Benedetta Wamuo said the attacker lived alone and is new land owner in the area. She added that the attack shocked villagers in her area of jurisdiction.

It took the efforts of Good Samaritans to rush the mother of the children to Mwingi Level Four Hospital where her other child was pronounced dead on arrival. Earlier, one of her children died at the scene of crime at Kwamunyanzu village when he was cut with a panga.

Police said the mother was admitted in the facility in critical condition.

The bodies of the two children were taken to Mwingi Level Four Hospital Morgue awaiting postmoterm.
