Tharaka Nithi County Governor Muthomi Njuki has appointed NTV’s senior political reporter Kennedy Murithi to a top county position as he serves his second and last term as the county boss.
Murithi, a seasoned political and parliamentary affairs reporter was appointed as the as the Political Advisor to the governor on Monday. At the same time governor Njuki nominated a list of Chief Officers which he forwarded to the County Assembly for approval.
Interestingly, during his first term in office, Muthomi appointed the journalist as his Communications Director. However, after a short stint, he silently resigned and resumed his job as a reporter where he has been working till his appointment.
During an online interview that he shared on his Facebook page over the weekend, Murithi intimated that governor Muthoni was his closest friend as well as a mentor. He also mentioned about his short stint at Tharaka County Government but he didn't divulge information as to why he had to leave the job.
Shortly after the announcement of his appointment, colleague journalists took to the social media to congratulate Murithi.
They included Chemutai Goin of Citizen TV and Geoffrey Mosoku of the Standard newspaper among others.
