KITUI MCAs approve two members of public to serve in Assembly Service Board

The County Assembly of Kitui has approved two candidates to serve in the board after successful interviews conducted last week.

 

The County Assembly chaired by Speaker Kevin Kinengo Katisya nominated Ms Ruth Nzambi Joseph and Mr Wilson Muange Musyoka to serve in the powerful board. The approved members were picked out of 23 candidates who were shortlisted.

The appointments were done in line with Section 46 of the County Assemblies Service Act.

The report of the appointments was presented by Ikutha MCA Hussein Mwandia who is also a member of CASB. The other member of the Board is Chuluni MCA Mathew Ngovi Vuthi who also serves as the Vice-Chairperson.

The two replaced outgoing Kitui County Assembly Service Board (CASB) members Dr Musangi Mutua and Mr Simon Mundu who served in the second CASB. The duo did not turn up for interviews despite being shortlisted.

The CASB has five board members. The Clerk Mr Elijah Mutambuki is Secretary to the Board. 

After successful election as Speaker of Kitui County Assembly, Kevin Kinengo Katisya assumed the role of the Chairperson of the Board. He replaced former Speaker George Mutua Ndotto who served in the last two assemblies.

The responsibilities of the Service Board are to ensure that the assembly is availed with services, human and material for the smooth functioning of the Assembly.
