Local media reports said that he will be taken to Kitui County Referral Hospital for more specialized treatment.

He was injured in his chest and hands during the attack which happened at Inyali village near South Kitui Game Reserve.

Mwanduka who is a charcoal burner was in the forest when the attack happened.

Two people have already lost their lives in separate attacks during Somali herders' invasion in Kitui South. Kitui East MP Nimrod Mbai had earlier expressed concerns over the increasing number of killings in the southern part of the county.

"A Grade Seven pupil was killed less than a month ago. A man has also been killed", MP Mbai said recently.

Ukambani legislators have called on the National Government to end the camel herders’ invasions for a lasting peace to prevail.

Among those who visited Mutha Ward after attacks were Kitui senator Enoch Wambua, Kitui East MP Nimrod Mbai, area MCA Dominic Mwamisi and his colleagues who trooped to the ward in a show of solidary with residents.
