Speaking in Kitui Rural Constituency during the campaigns to ensure Hon David Mboni Mwalika retains his seat, Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua urged residents to vote for Mwalika to give Kalonzo a bigger bargaining power at the national level.

"Kalonzo needs to be given enough bargaining power by ensuring that his party has big number of elected MPs. That is the reason why you should vote for his party's candidate in the Monday election," said Wambua.

"You should vote back David Mboni Mwalika because his win as a Wiper candidate will give our party leader the political push and influence he deserves as he seeks the presidency in 2027," the Senator went on.

Mwingi North MP Paul Nzengu who was part of campaign trail for Wiper candidate in Kitui Rural said that voting back Mwalika would give Kalonzo more influence as he plans another vying for the country’s top seat.

You have to save Kalonzo's face at the national level and show that he is popular at home by electing his party's candidate at the Monday election," said Nzengu.

Having worked with Mwalika in the 12th parliament, the Mwingi North MP termed Mwalika as a performer per excellence and an astute leader who fought for the interests of his constituents at the August House.

The MP campaign combed virtually all corners of Kitui Rural in an effort to re-elect Mwalika.
