Nairobi family torn apart as squabbles escalate

A Sunday incident left resident of Nasra Estate, Njiru area of Nairobi County in shock as a 34-year-old man killed himself in a car. He was accompanied by his daughter aged two and half years.

Kayole police recovered a knife and a five litre jerrican which was allegedly used to carry out the heinous crime. The jerrican contained petrol.

Police report shows that Denis Musyoka and his estranged wife Elizabeth Munyalo were embroiled in family feuds.

On the fateful day, Musyoka had requested that his daughter be brought to his house so that they can bond.

Before he died, he attacked his wife with a knife by stabbing her severally in her neck. His body was moved to Mama Lucy Hospital morgue. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.

“The lady managed to jump out of the vehicle and was rescued by good Samaritans. The deceased (Denis Musyoka) then set himself on fire in the said vehicle together with her daughter, 2.5yrs”, police reported on Sunday.

The victims were rushed to Mama Lucy Hospital for treatment.  The mother was out of danger by the time we went to press but her daughter was transferred to Kenyatta National Hospital for specialised treatment as she was in critical condition.
