An illustration of suicide attempt. Police are investigating a case in Kamuw'ongo village Kyuso Ward where a teacher named Mr Muia is alleged to have committed suicide in his rented house. Sources cite family squabbles and losing his brand-new motorbike as some pointers to him being depressed before losing his life. Photo/COURTESY

Speaking to MWINGI TIMES, a resident said that the teacher only identified as Mr Muia was discovered on Thursday.

“We confirmed the incident at around 2pm. He died in his house. He stayed away from school for two days. His colleagues were worried where he was” narrated the news source.

When they went to see him, they found out that his house was not locked. That’s when his lifeless body was discovered.

The teacher hailed from Machakos county.  He was married in Mwingi but separated with his wife over family issues.

Our source who requested to remain anonymous said that the teacher was battling depression. “He lost his brand-new motorbike which was stolen right from his rented apartment” she added.

As if that was not enough, his wife and child left him. They don’t know what was ailing his family which seemed to have everything they wish for.

The source said that he has everything to his name. He had money.

The teacher’s body was taken to mortuary in preparation for his send off. “Police went to the crime scene and took his body to the mortuary” said the MWINGI TIMES source.
