BREAKING: MWINGI BUS VEERS OFF ROAD, SCORES INJURED

 A public service vehicle ferrying passengers from Mwingi town to Kyuso was involved in an accident early this morning.  Scores of passengers were injured.

Members of the public rushed to the scene of accident and helped survivors trapped in the wreckage. The vehicle involved in the accident was identified as KCN 948F.

Eye witnesses said that the driver of the PSV hit a speed bump. Since the vehicle was speeding, he lost control of the minibus matatu. The vehicle veered off the road and landed on its side.

Scores of the injured travellers who where on the vehicle were rushed to Tei Wa Yesu Mission Hospital in Gai market where they are being treated.

A source said that one of the passengers sustained a deep cut on the head and a fracture on the hand.

By the time we went to press, traffic police had not arrived at the accident scene.
