The veteran administrator and legislator today toured Ithookwe village, Kyangwithya West Ward in Kitui Central Sub County to drum up support for his bid.

This came shortly after the High Court nullified pioneer governor Julius Malombe’s nomination as Wiper candidate. The party was ordered to conduct a fresh nomination within 72 hours. Malombe was forced to shelve his plans of presenting nomination papers scheduled for Monday.

Both Malombe and governor Charity Ngilu come from the same sub county. Analysts believe Mr Musila’s forays will leave their political bedroom exposed, losing more supporters.

Lady Justice Christine Meoli ordered the Kalonzo Musyoka-led party to conduct fresh nominations. She asserted that the High Court had found overwhelming evidence that Wiper party went against the Political Parties Act and its own nomination regulations.

The setback to both Wiper and Dr Malombe is a major win for former Kenyan Ambassador to Uganda Kiema Kilonzo who had contested the party’s issuing of direct ticket to Dr Malombe. Ambassador Kilonzo was being represented in court by former LSK Chairman Eric Mutua.
