THE Kenya Meteorological Department has forecasted that this week will generally be dry though there is a small chance of receiving light rains on Thursday and Friday in Kitui County.
The rains will be expected to be experienced in Tharaka and Mumoni, Kiomo Kyethani and Nzambani wards. The rest of the wards will remain dry, says the Met Dept.
During the forecast period, maximum temperatures are expected to oscillate between 25 degrees Celsius to 32 degrees Celsius.
On the other hand, the minimum temperatures are expected to range from 17 to 22 degrees Celsius.
Farmers are called upon to consult their local ward agricultural extension officer “for appropriate advisories”.
Kitui County Director of Meteorology Mr Daniel Mbithi says that farmers need to use the best farming practices in the light of this forecast.
