Sen Wambua: They mishandled Kalonzo by denying him chance to eulogize Kibaki

Two Kitui county legislators have taken issue with the apparent ignoring of their party leader in a recent State function.

They say that the organizers did not treat Wiper Democratic Movement party leader Kalonzo Musyoka well.

“We have noticed how HE Stephen Kalonzo was treated during the funeral serve of the Late Mwai Kibaki. We shall revisit as the Kamba Nation”, said Kitui Woman Representative Dr Irene Kasalu.

Dr Kasalu’s sentiments were swiftly echoed by Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua. In his own words, the former Standard newspaper editor said Kalonzo was mishandled by State operatives during the State funeral of Kenya’s third Head of State Emilio Mwai Kibaki.

“I take great exception to the mishandling of my Party Leader H.E. Dr Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, SC, EGH by State operatives during the State funeral service of President Mwai Kibaki burial in Othaya. Try all you can, but you won’t change history and you won’t determine the destiny of my Party Leader.”, said Senator Kiio.

The Kitui Senator credited Kalonzo for being supportive of the Kibaki government when he was his vice president from 2008 to 2013. He described him as loyal, able and effective leader who played a pivotal role in the success of the Grand Coalition government.

Wambua lamented that Kalonzo was denied the opportunity to eulogize his boss.

“May Mzee Mwai Kibaki’s soul rest in God’s eternal glory”, concluded the first time Kitui senator.
