Having come of age, digital media is hard to ignore today. It has permeated many facets of our lives and is no longer ran by lazy quacks passing time for fun.

Today’s digital journalism is highly professionalised. It challenges traditional media in virtually all spheres even during interactive forums organized by industry regulator Media Council of Kenya.

Classified under Investigative Print, Nairobi Leo’s managing director Martin Wachira has been nominated as one of AJEA 2022 FINALISTS. His story Urban poison: the danger in eating street boiled eggs and kachumbari will go head-to-head with a Daily Nation story in the same category.

Mr Wachira will be one of the panellists discussing “Journalism under digital siege” to mark World Press Freedom Day 2022 at Safari Park Hotel, Nairobi on May 5, 2022. The MCK event will also feature other prominent journalists such as Mr Oliver Mathenge, the Multimedia Editor for NTV as well as his colleague Harry Misiko.

Due to the changing dynamics of technology, various tech-based categories have been featured. They include Investigative Reporting Digital, Podcast of the Year Digital and ICT & Telecommunication Reporting TV.

International broadcasters will also be among the competitors such as the BBC and Deustche Welle.
