Chief Minister is powerful enough, Ngilu tells Kalonzo

IN a scathing attack aimed at Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Narc leader and Kitui Governor Charity NgIlu has said Kalonzo spoiled his own chance to serve in Azimio-OKA coalition.

While appearing on NTV 7pm bulletin (Swahili), Ms Ngilu went on to say what Kalonzo was offered as the Chief Minister was powerful enough for him to serve saying it involved coordinating all the ministries rendering the holder an equivalent of a prime minister.

The Kitui county boss also made a case for her own leadership saying that she was a woman leader with solid reform credentials dating back to 1992 during the fight for multiparty democracy.

Another swipe was directed at Kanu chairman Gideon Moi who she described as indecisive. Ngilu said she was surprised to see Mr Moi hanging out with Wiper leadership yet his own party was in a Raila event at KICC.

“Today I was surprised by Hon Gideon Moi who came at KICC and said he was with us and left his own secretary general (Nick Salat) with us. Then later we saw him at SKM Command Centre”, said Gov Ngilu.

The Wiper party used direct nomination to select its gubernatorial candidate this year. Pioneer governor for Kitui County Dr Julius Malombe is expected to face off with “Mama Rainbow”.  Malombe’s deputy is Augustine Kanani, a banker who comes from Mwingi North sub county.
