Pick Kalonzo or forget State House in August 2022. These were some of the major pronouncements made by Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s allies as it became clear that he was unlikely to be Raila’s running mate.

Makueni MP and Wiper Deputy Secretary General Dan Maanzo said that after the Saturday meeting convened by the party’s top brass, it was resolved that Wiper withdraws from Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya Coalition.

Maanzo described the move as due to Raila’s rigid stand over deputy presidential pick.  “We have been negotiating for days now but Raila Odinga appears to be rigid and we have no options other than part ways”, he said yesterday after attending JCC church service in Wote town.

The Makueni MP singled out Karua as being unpopular as he claimed that she will not bring many moves from the vote rich Mt Kenya region.

“Azimio has no votes in Central Kenya and let Raila Odinga and Uhuru Kenyatta reconsider their thinking and if not, Odinga has lost”, said the Wiper Deputy SG.

Kalonzo skipped Raila’s Kamukunji rally. Instead, he posted photos of himself and Baringo Senator Gideon Moi having a discussion.  MWINGI TIMES understands that the Kanu Chairman withdrew out of the deputy presidential shortlist in favour of Kalonzo.

Mr Odinga announced Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua, SC his running mate today at 11am.

The Wiper party boss was expected to make an announcement on his presidential bid at the SKM command centre according to an invitation sent to MPs by Organizing Secretary Mr Robert Mbui. Mr Mbui is also the MP for Kathiani constituency.

The party is also expected to move to the High Court today in order to seek a breakup of Azimio la Umoja OKA Coalition.
