SIM re-registration is punitive, Kitui residents say

The Safaricom centre in Kitui town was a bee hive of activities as subscribers rushed to re-register their lines ahead of April 15 CA's deadline.

"I was at their shop in the morning hour but I couldn't register since there was a long queue," said Ken Mumo.

Other town dwellers who spoke to MWINGI TIMES said they were not willing undertake the exercise which they termed as punitive.

"I cannot queue for fuel and then go do the same for my sim card. Let them switch it off," affirmed a Kitui businessman.

"As for me they have no option to but to switch off my line. I cannot queue for anyone this year. I will not even queue to vote," John Mwinzi, a Mwingi native who resides at Mombasa protested on Facebook.
