The Kitui CEC in charge of Health and Sanitation Dr Winnie Kitetu led members of the Kitui County Public Service Board (CPSB) and some health officers to Mutomo Mission Hospital, to inspect the installed Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and CT scan at the facility on April 13, 2022.

The equipment installed at the facility aims to enhance and bring closer affordable healthcare services to Kitui South residents and her neighbourhood.

"The two-equipment installed in this facility have reduced the burden for our people going long distances to seek for these services," said Kitetu.

After the inspection, the team joined nurses who have been contracted by Catholic Medical Mission Board (CMMB) for a one-day induction workshop at Mutomo town.

Addressing the newly employed nurses, the County Health ministry boss urged them to focus on better healthcare service delivery.

"As colleagues in the profession, I want to encourage you to commit your energy toward offering the best healthcare services to our people and let our services be guided by the ethics and principles governing the profession," said Kitetu.

Further, the CEC, thanked the governor for her dedication and commitment towards healthcare and largely to maternal and child healthcare across the county.
