The DP who is also the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party leader held negotiations that led to politician Muthengi Ng'ere ceding ground for Kyome/Thaana MCA Alex Wambua at his official Karen residence in Nairobi on Monday.

This means Wambua who decamped from Wiper before announcing his bid for the parliamentary position will now get a direct UDA ticket for the position.

Wambua will now square it out with other candidates from other parties who have lined up in a bid to oust the first term MP Charles Ngusya Nguna alias CNN on August 9 this year.

After brokering the deal between the two, Dr. Ruto lauded Ng'ere for his willingness to step down for the Ward Rep.

"We salute Patrick Ng'ere for staying his ambitions to back Alex Wambua Mwangangi for Mwingi West parliamentary seat," the DP announced on twitter.

The UDA party boss said Ng'ere whom he termed as a vibrant mobilizer will be part of his presidential campaign team as well as campaign for Wambua to clinch the parliamentary seat.

Wambua in a terse message to MWINGI TIMES welcomed the move by his UDA competitor adding that he was ready to fly the UDA flag high and emerge as the winner in the August polls.

"I welcome his move with greatness. UDA family is a symbol of great leadership. We are keen so that Mwingi West does not to go to opportunists to who have nothing to offer to the constituents," he said.

The MCA who has now set eyes on a bigger role is celebrated for his staunch stand especially when he spoke on the floor of the County Assembly of Kitui. He occasionally differed with colleagues on matters of county and national importance that came for debate on the floor of the House. For instance, he will be remembered as the only Wiper MCA who voted against the BBI at the County Assembly of Kitui.
