THE Kenya Meteorological Department has forecast that most of northern parts of Kitui County will have light rainfall in the first week of March.

Mwingi region consists of a large landmass on the northern side. They include Tseikuru at the uppermost section and the neighbouring wards.
Athi, Ikuta and Kanziko wards will be the wettest wards in Kitui this week according to Mr Daniel Mbithi, the County Director of Meteorology.
In contrast, the southern tip of the Charity Ngilu-led County will have higher amounts of rains compared to the Far North.
“The County is likely to experience generally dry conditions for the entire forecast period. Maximum temperatures are expected to range from 26 degrees Celsius to 36 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperatures are expected to range from 20 degrees Celsius to 25 degrees Celsius”, reads a section the Kitui County Weekly Weather Forecast the three-page booklet seen by Mwingi Times. The forecast covers March 1 to March 7 2022.
