KITUI Clinical Officer Interns go on strike, have not been paid since August 2021

 KITUI Clinical Officer interns have gone on strike demanding payment over delayed dues. Speaking to Mwingi Times, the health workers said they have not been paid since August 2021.

The clinical officers are currently addressing national and county governments in Kitui town to have their pays sent to their bank accounts to ease the economic fallout that has been witnessed across the country.

Since Covid-19 pandemic started, millions have lost their jobs and others such as the health workers work under harsh environment.

It remains to be seen if Governor Charity Ngilu will solve their financial woes which may turn out to be a campaign issue given we are just five months to the August 9 General Elections.
