The party leader Justin Muturi   said the party will have a thorough vetting of partners who want to join hands with DP for partnership in forming a coalition ahead of the forthcoming elections.

Muturi had ruled out joining any of the big coalitions.

He at the same time said the party will not coalesce blindly without knowing how the agreements in the coalitions will be implemented and honoured.

“War on corruption is one of my irreducible minimums and anyone who wants to engage us must be ready to walk with us in this journey and believe in our stand,” said the National Assembly Speaker.

Speaking in Embu town when he met grassroot leaders from Mbeere South and Manyatta constituencies in Embu town, he said he was bound by integrity and graft fight so that public resources can be harness well.

“Social protection of our people cannot be attained unless all of us are in the forefront against graft,” Muturi said as he insisted that campaigns must be geared towards service delivery and not power sharing.

Muturi said many people had been subjected to poverty because of corruption saying that is his core mandate when he will become president will be war on corruption.

The second term Speaker said DP was ready to go all the way to the ballot as a party of there will be no coalition that will meet the irreducible minimum that the party insists stating that he was sure the DP party will form the next government.

Leaders who accompanied him drummed on support towards Muturi saying he was a man of integrity who is fit to lead the country.

Jane Mbuthia, a former journalist who is eying Mbeere South Parliamentary seat said that Muturi was among a few people who have not been implicated in any corruption scandal terming that as good qualification for him to be elected president.

“Speaker Muturi has served this country for close to 10 years and has not been involved in any corruption related scam,” said Ms. Jane Mbuthia.

Muturi received several defectors from various parties including Alexander Mundigi from UDA party who is contesting for Embu Senate seat.
