NDINDA: Benefits of eating vegetables

Our today's discussion is all about vegetable intake. Most of us rarely do veggies, compared to starch, proteins and carbohydrates.

Vegetables come in many forms and got so much nutritional values in our bodies. Most vegetables are locally available, pocket friendly, easy and fast to prepare. Below are some of the benefits;

Control of blood pressure. Vegetables such as spinach are very beneficial in our bodies. One of the benefits is that of blood pressure control, thus improving our cardiovascular health.

Skin care - There are so many ways to take good care of our skin and among them is vegetable intake. They include tomatoes, kales and lots of avocados. Additionally, cucumbers have a high-water content, which in return keeps our skins well hydrated.

Blood sugar control. Vegetables are low in calories, and high in fibre and nutrients, thus helping in control of blood sugars which tend to rise during meal intake. These vegetables could include carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes, broccoli, cabbage, spinach, lettuce and green beans.

Cancer risk reduction - This is not a guarantee that once you take vegetables, you cannot suffer from cancer. No. This just helps reduce the chances of suffering from cancer. Cruciferous veggies such as cauliflower and Brussels are a great idea because they have a high content which has a great power to fight cancer since most of these vegetables are naturally grown and harvested. 

Immune system improvement - If there is one thing that we should all do is to make sure that we include lots of different vegetables in our meals, so just to improve our immune system. This will in return help our bodies fight diseases and keep us healthy and strong. 

These are just but a few of the benefits. Let's us make it a habit of having vegetables either as a salad or a side dish. Be safe, Stay Healthy Always.
