The country’s second in command may use the tour to introduce his UDA party aspirants to voters. This time, he is more invigorated having brought to his side two principals from Western region; Wycliffe Musalia Mudavadi of Amani National Congress and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula from Ford Kenya party.

In DP Ruto’s entourage will be Kitui UDA senatorial hopeful Stephen Mutua Kilonzo, Mwingi North MP aspirant for UDA party Charles Mwalimu and his Kitui South counterpart Eng Denis Mwangangi.

Mwingi Central UDA candidate Joseph Kula will also join DP William Ruto in his tour of Kitui County on Thursday. Ms Deborah Kathalu who will be running for Kitui County Woman Rep on UDA ticket is also expected to be in her party leader’s entourage.

According to DP William Ruto and Kenya Kwanza coalition programme seen by Mwingi Times, the Ukambani campaign will start right at the heart of Wiper leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka’s rural town of Tseikuru at 10am.

After holding a meeting in Tseikuru market, Dr Ruto and his team will proceed to Mathuki market in Mwingi Central and later tour Ndooa market in Mutitu, Kitui East sub county.

Another stop for the Kenya Kwanza and UDA team will be in Athi in Kitui South. They will later proceed to Machakos County for similar grassroot campaigns.
